Basic Strategy of Blackjack

Basic Strategy of Blackjack

All card games have their “basic strategy” and Blackjack is no exception. If you chose to follow the basic strategy, you will see where the hard science of mathematics points. If you follow the basic strategy of Blackjack you will find that the house edge can shrink to 0.5%.
Reckless players will see the house edge notch up to somewhere between 3% to 5% which means they are wasting the opportunities to win. Keep an eye on the number of decks being used and whether the dealer hits on a Soft-17. Generally, the fewer the decks, the easier it is to tell which card might next come up next.
Dealers who stand on the Soft-17 are a better bet and don’t play at a table where doubling down is not allowed. Double at anytime the charts call for it and be sure to ask where you can double on a split, or whether you can surrender. These are the options you want because they help your payout odds. It is obviously wise not to double bets when you are on a losing streak. This might not be conventionally sound, but it stops you from doubling your bets to recover from your losses quickly. If you lose early, make it a hard-and-fast rule that you don¹t bet again if your limit has been met.
